Gorakhpur (Team Newsbuddy): Chinese company Huawei is upgrading 2G and 3G mobile towers to 4G in Nepal. 61 mobile towers of Nepali telecom company Namaste have been upgraded to 4G in four districts of Nepal bordering Uttarakhand.

Security agencies have become alert about this service being provided by China in Nepali villages bordering the border. A report has been sought from the police of the districts bordering the border regarding the possibility of the Chinese company’s network being used in anti-India activities and espionage through it.

Inspector General of Police Law and Order LR Kumar has written a letter to the in-charge of Operation Kavach Yojana / ADG Zone Gorakhpur as well as police officers of all the districts bordering the border and sought information in this regard.

61 out of 93 towers upgraded on Uttarakhand border

There are 93 mobile towers in Baitadi, Dadeldhura, Kanchanpur, Dharchula districts of Nepal bordering Uttarakhand, out of which 61 towers have been upgraded to 4G by China’s Huawei company.

Nepali network dominates Indian villages on the border

Nepali mobile network company dominates Indian villages on the Nepal border. Most villages bordering the border either do not have towers of Indian telecom companies or even if they have, the network does not work properly. Criminals take advantage of this flaw in the system, because the police are not able to get the call details of Nepali mobile numbers.

A year ago, SP Shravasti had written a letter to higher officials to solve this problem to curb security and crime. This problem still exists in the villages of Maharajganj, Siddharthnagar, Balrampur, Bahraich, Pilibhit and Lakhimpur Kheri districts bordering Nepal.
