Kolkata rape-murder case: Supreme Court directs to form National Task Force

New Delhi (Team Newsbuddy): The outrage over the rape and murder of a trainee doctor in Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal, is not subsiding. While doctors are constantly demanding their safety, voices are being raised continuously to get justice for the victim. Meanwhile, a big hearing is being held in the Supreme Court today regarding the brutality and murder case with the doctor. In this case, a bench headed by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud has taken suo motu cognizance and this case was placed high in the list today. Apart from the CJI, the bench of the apex court includes Justice JB Pardiwala and Justice Manoj Mishra.

The CJI has said that the Kolkata incident raises security issues for doctors across the country. We are concerned about the doctors. The Supreme Court has said that we are extremely concerned about the fact that the name, photo and video clip of the Kolkata rape victim were published everywhere. The law prohibits publishing the names of the victims. Is this the way we can provide respect to the young doctor who has lost his life. The Supreme Court also questioned the principal of the college that he tried to call it a suicide and the parents were not allowed to see the body.

The Supreme Court raised questions on the registration of FIR and said that it seems that the crime was detected early in the morning and no FIR was registered. Senior advocate Kapil Sibal denied this fact and said that a case of unnatural death was registered.

The Supreme Court said that no FIR was registered till late night and said that it is clearly a case of murder. Senior advocate Kapil Sibal replied that the investigation shows that it was a case of murder.

It is known that on August 9, Kolkata’s R.G. The body of a female trainee doctor was found under mysterious circumstances in the premises of Kar Medical College and Hospital. She was a second year post graduate student and was on duty in the Chest Medicine department. Her body was found on the fourth floor of the emergency building. There is anger across the country against the murder of the female doctor and doctors are on strike in many states including West Bengal.
