20 cattle died due to lightning

Korba (Team Newsbuddy): More than 20 cattle of 12 farmers died due to lightning. While two shepherds grazing cattle some distance away from the spot narrowly escaped. Farmers had to suffer financial loss due to the death of cattle. The incident is of Gram Panchayat Kerakachar, 20 km away from the district headquarters. Most of the people residing here make their living by farming.

That’s why the villagers have kept cows and bulls in their homes. It is being told that to graze these cattle, the villagers have kept two shepherds, who go to the forest with the cattle every day and bring them home in the evening after grazing. Like every day, the shepherds had gone to the forest to graze the cattle in the morning. The weather changed and it started drizzling with heavy thunder. Meanwhile, there was a strong thunder and it fell on the cattle.

In the incident, nine cows, seven bulls and four calves died on the spot, while some other cattle were burnt. Both the shepherds survived safely as they were some distance away from the incident spot. They reached the village and informed about the incident. On receiving the information, the police also reached the spot and inspected it. The veterinary department was informed for post-mortem.
