Chhattisgarh’s team gears up for AIFSM-2024 with unwavering dedication

Under the leadership of Forest Minister Kedar Kashyap, the Chhattisgarh Forest Department has commenced intense preparations for the upcoming All India Forest Sports Meet (AIFSM) 2024. This prestigious event, to be hosted in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, will see forest department officials and employees from across the country competing in over 250 sporting events. The AIFSM will feature fierce competition in more than 20 sports, including athletics, badminton, basketball, football, hockey, lawn tennis, volleyball, cricket, and table tennis.
From August 29 to 31, 2023, a selection tournament was held to choose Chhattisgarh’s representatives for AIFSM 2024, resulting in the selection of over 350 athletes. Currently, these participants are undergoing rigorous training in camps under the guidance of experienced and professional coaches. With the support of Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Forest Force Chief, V. Srinivas Rao, they are demonstrating exceptional dedication in their preparations.
Senior IFS officer and Nodal Officer Shalini Raina highlighted that training programs are being conducted on Raipur’s well-equipped grounds and courts. Additionally, participants’ diet and health are closely monitored to enhance their physical and mental capabilities. Chhattisgarh’s athletes have a history of outstanding performance in these competitions. At the AIFSM 2023 held in Panchkula, Haryana, Chhattisgarh secured first place with an impressive haul of 67 gold medals. This year, the team is preparing with the same passion and hard work to surpass their previous record.
The team features several star athletes who have previously brought glory to the state, including Charulata Gajpal in athletics, Teja Sahu in weightlifting, and Maniram Adile in swimming. These athletes have consistently won gold medals for Chhattisgarh and are expected to deliver outstanding performances once again. The entire Chhattisgarh team is committed to their preparation with discipline and enthusiasm, and there is strong confidence that they will top the medal table once more
