Agricultural Researcher Kishore Rajput, who was honored by the state government for collecting seeds of more than 200 varieties of paddy, met District Panchayat member Pragya Nirvani and gave her information about the alternative available fibers of cotton and demanded help from the state government for textile mill and research in Bemetara district. Agricultural Researcher Kishore Rajput said that the weeds grown in the ridges of the agriculturally dominated state of Chhattisgarh, which is known for paddy cultivation, can be used to make yarn and this can be a revolutionary change for the future garment industries as a better alternative to cotton.
Kishore Rajput told about the shawl made from flax, saree made from the fiber of ladyfinger stems, and saree made from weed that it is completely organic and the colors in it are also natural, on a large scale. It can also be very cost effective with its production, district panchayat member Pragya Nirvani, while assuring to convey the message of Kishore Rajput to Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai, said that agriculture researcher Kishore Rajput of Navagarh region is making gold from weeds, youths should learn from his innovation, Kishore Rajput presented a shawl made of linseed fibre to Dr Saurabh Nirvani, coordinator of All India Chhattisgarhi Mahasabha, and also presented a sari made of weeds to Shweta Anand Tyagi, state office minister of Madhya Pradesh BJP’s Mahila Morcha, who was present there.
Kishore Rajput expressed his gratitude to the agricultural scientists of Krishi Vigyan Kendra Jhal for their cooperation and guidance in this research and processing of the fiber and said that he wishes to present a jacket made of weeds to Prime Minister Modi.
