Police raids cafe-restaurants, illegal liquor seized

Raipur (Team Newsbuddy): Police in action after complaint of serving liquor in hotels and restaurants after 12 o’clock in the night in the capital, SSP raided many cafes and restaurants in Raipur late night, action taken against those who flouted the rules, FIR registered against managers and restaurant owners

Complaints of serving liquor in hotels and restaurants after 12 o’clock in the night are being received continuously in the capital. Taking cognizance of this, SSP Santosh Singh himself went out to investigate at around one o’clock in the night. In plain clothes, he went to a restaurant located on VIP Road as a customer. Sitting there, he ordered liquor and beer.

As soon as the liquor was served, the SSP’s team raided. Beer, liquor and hookahs were seized from the restaurant. Action was taken against seven restaurants and cafes. Also, half a dozen people who were partying at night were arrested. Action was taken against them under the Excise Act. SSP Santosh Singhasan said that complaints were coming that liquor was being served in hotels, restaurants, cafes of VIP Road and GE Road till midnight.

Action taken against them:

Raids were conducted in 36 restaurants of the city, The Burn House Restaurant, Bablu The Dhaba, Pintu Dhaba, Hotel Paji The Pind, Hotel Sardar The Kitchen and another restaurant. Liquor was being served at these places even after midnight. Police have arrested Kamta Kashyap, Suraj Jatwar, Amandeep Singh, Jitendra Singh Jatendra Singh, Manjit Singh. Abhishek Agarwal, Akash Dhruv, Prafull Bhoyar, Anil Khute, Mukesh Das and P Shiva Rao who were partying at midnight have also been arrested.
Officers arrived with the staff of urban police station for action in rural areas. So that no one gets a clue
