1 min read

Balodabazar (Team Newsbuddy): Under the direction of Collector Deepak Soni, a total of 8 bonded laborers including 3 children of village Lahod have been safely returned home from Karnataka by the Labor Department. Which includes 5 men and 3 women, 2 boys and 1 girl among the children. During this, the collector met the workers today and took stock of their well-being. Congratulating Soni, he advised to avoid greed as well as many employment opportunities are available at the local level.

So instead of going to unknown places, it is better to do employment work at the local level. The labourer Toran Banjare told that we went to Nagpur on 10th September by Tejaram Patre, who is known as a sugarcane cutting labourer from Lavan. After working there for a week, on 17th September, we were sent to another contractor to work for sugarcane cutting in village Kopallu under Mandia district of Karnataka state.

The owner did not make any arrangements for accommodation, food and drinking water and we were also being made to do extra work beyond the wages. Due to which we were facing a lot of trouble. When we wanted to return home, they did not let us come and made us do the labour work by keeping us hostage. Later, we shared our pain through social media, due to which we have returned home safely today. From the labour department, co-labour inspector Abhay Dubey, Komal Singh Marawi reached Karnataka to contact the labourers and bring them back safely
