Deputy Chief Minister and Minister in-charge of the district Arun Sao attended the Senior Citizens Honor Ceremony organized at Triveni Bhawan on International Senior Citizens Day. He honored the senior citizens by giving them shawls and coconuts in the program. Chief guest Sao said that the elderly are our pride. Our honor lies in their honor. Their blessings are a great strength for us. The program was presided over by Bilha MLA Dharam Lal Kaushik. Beltara MLA Sushant Shukla was present as a special guest on this occasion. About 600 elders were honored in the program organized by the Social Welfare Department. Health check-up of senior citizens was also done at the camp site.
Addressing the program, Deputy Chief Minister Arun Saw said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is serving the elderly of the country by becoming Shravan Kumar. He has arranged free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh for senior citizens above 70 years of age. Prime Minister Modi and Vishnu Dev Sai’s government have honored the senior citizens. Many schemes are being run by them for you. He said that Triveni is the place where three rivers meet. Today, with the presence of such a large number of senior citizens in Triveni Bhawan, this place really looks like a pilgrimage place. We get strength from the blessings of the senior citizens. He said that respect for the senior citizens has been an integral part of our culture since ancient times. You are a treasure of experience who solve our biggest problems in a jiffy. Bilha MLA Dharam Lal Kaushik, who was presiding over the program, said that the Chhattisgarh government is running schemes for the betterment of the senior citizens while respecting them, so our Chhattisgarh is touching new heights. It is only by respecting the senior citizens that the family remains organized and cultured. It is from them that the children get values and learning. The family gets the right direction
