Ajit Pawar faction’s NCP leader Baba Siddiqui shot dead in Mumbai!

Mumbai (Team Newsbuddy): NCP leader (Ajit Pawar faction) Baba Siddiqui was shot by three people near Kherwadi signal in Bandra (East) late Saturday night. After this he was admitted to Lilavati Hospital. Where he died during treatment. Baba Siddiqui had left Congress and joined NCP this year. Unknown people opened fire on Baba Ziauddin Siddiqui in Bandra (East). The NCP leader died during treatment at Lilavati Hospital. The hospital has confirmed this. Baba Siddiqui had resigned from Congress this year and joined Ajit Pawar’s NCP.
The incident of 2 to 3 rounds of firing on Siddiqui took place in Bandra East. Siddiqui has been immediately admitted to Lilavati Hospital. He died during treatment in the hospital. The firing is believed to have taken place outside Zeeshan Siddiqui’s office. The incident took place near Kherwadi signal. It is reported that three people opened fire on Baba Siddiqui.

Who is Baba Siddiqui?

Baba Ziauddin Siddiqui was the MLA of Bandra West assembly seat in Maharashtra. A prominent minority face of the Mumbai Congress, Siddiqui also served as a minister when the Congress-NCP alliance was in power. Earlier this year, he resigned from the Congress. While leaving the party, he had said that I joined the Indian National Congress party as a teenager. It has been an important journey lasting 48 years.

Joined Ajit Pawar’s NCP

Baba Siddiqui resigned from the Congress on 8 February 2024 this year. After this, he joined Ajit Pawar’s Nationalist Congress on 12 February.

Three-time MLA

Baba Siddiqui was an MLA for three consecutive terms in 1999, 2004 and 2009 and also served as Minister of State for Food and Civil Supplies, Labour and FDA. Earlier, he also served as Municipal Corporation Councillor for two consecutive terms (1992-1997). Before leaving the Congress, he was serving as the President and Senior Vice President of the Mumbai Regional Congress Committee and Parliamentary Board of Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee. In the early days, he was in the student movement. In 1980, he was made the General Secretary of the Bandra Youth Congress and four years later he became the President. He became the President of Mumbai Youth Congress in 1988.

Born in Patna

Baba Siddiqui was born in Patna, Bihar. Baba Siddiqui (Ziauddin Siddiqui) was born to Abdul Rahim Siddiqui and Razia Siddiqui. Baba Siddiqui is married to Shahzeen Siddiqui. He has two children. He has a daughter Dr Arshiya Siddiqui and a son Zeeshan Siddiqui. Son Zeeshan Siddiqui is also an MLA.

Siddique Baba was in controversies

Siddique was charged under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act after irregularities were found in a slum redevelopment project named ‘Jamat-e-Jamhuria’ near Bandra Reclamation by Pyramid Developers. According to senior government officials, the developers sold the plot to Satra Group for Rs 90 crore. Siddiqui allegedly had a hand in this, as he had decided to increase the Floor Space Index (FSI) when he was the chairman of Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA). This was termed as misuse of power.
