Palak Sharma, who has made diving her passion since the age of 8, has won 50 medals at national and international level in her 9-year journey, out of which 29 gold, 8 silver and 3 bronze medals are included in national competitions, including 4 gold, 5 silver and 1 bronze medal in international competitions. In 2018, at the age of just 12, Palak Sharma started winning medals by participating in national junior competitions. And since then, this winning streak that started has continued uninterrupted till now.
Palak Sharma, who has proved her talent in this competition at a very young age, has won medals at national and international level and has also won many awards, including the Prime Minister National Bal Puraskar 2021 and Madhya Pradesh’s highest award Eklavya Award 2022. Palak is also the brand ambassador of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s very ambitious scheme Beti Bachao Beti Padhao. Just 5 days before participating in this Asian Diving Championship, Palak had to go through a very difficult phase in which her grandfather passed away. Despite this difficult situation and shock, Palak has set an example by agreeing to this tournament in just 5 days. Palak said that grandfather was very dear to me and now our focus will be on winning a medal in his honor in this tournament. Many people advised her to leave the tournament in this difficult situation, but Palak said that no, when a great player like Sachin Tendulkar can score a century by playing for the country on the death of his father, then why can’t she play? She will definitely participate in the tournament. And with this resolve, Palak Sharma gave her consent for this tournament to be held in China. Now she will depart for China from Delhi on 21st October with the rest of the team members to participate in this tournament
