Indian Army to hosts Soldierathon Marathon in Nava Raipur

Nava Raipur (Team Newsbuddy) : The Indian Army, in collaboration with Chhattisgarh Government, is organizing a Special Edition of the Soldierathon Marathon at Central Park, Nava Raipur, on December 15. The event will commemorate the 53rd anniversary of India’s decisive victory in the 1971 War with Pakistan, a momentous chapter in the nation’s history.
The marathon will feature various race categories to suit participants of all levels, including a 21 Km, 10 Km, and 5 Km run, alongside a 3 Km Walk. The race Expo for this shall be organized at Central Park, Naya Raipur on December 14, 2024.
One of the key highlights of the event will be an exhibit war relic from the 1971 Indo-Pak War. The exhibit will feature military artifacts, photographs, and memorabilia from the war, giving attendees a rare chance to engage with the history of the conflict and gain deeper insight into the sacrifices made by Indian soldiers during this crucial period.
General VK Singh, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, ADC, former Chief of Army Staff, will be the Chief Guest at the upcoming event, where he will present a cheque of Rs 19,63,284 to the Paraplegic Rehabilitation Centre.
The Soldierathon Marathon is not only a celebration of fitness but also a tribute to the valour and sacrifices of the Indian soldiers who fought in the 1971 War. It aims to foster a strong connection between the Indian Armed Forces and the citizens of Chhattisgarh, reinforcing the spirit of unity, patriotism, and national pride.
