Police officials say that due to the ever increasing number of vehicles in Raipur district and the uncontrolled speed of vehicles on good roads, accidents have increased significantly.
Especially in the outer areas, most deaths are occurring in accidents while driving two-wheelers without helmets. To prevent deaths, it will now be mandatory for two-wheeler riders going out of the city to wear helmets.
In the year 2023, 507 people died in 1961 road accidents. At the same time, in the year 2024, 594 people died in 2079 road accidents. This includes the maximum 424 two-wheeler drivers and riders.
They were victims of accidents while driving without helmets. He died due to a serious head injury. The increasing number of deaths of two-wheeler drivers in the road accidents in the district is quite scary.
The analysis of road accidents has revealed the fact that more people have died due to serious head injuries. If two-wheeler drivers had worn helmets, then definitely 40-50 percent of deaths would have been less.
