Kendriya Vidyalaya SECL Jhagrakhand bags best award in Parliament House

Manendragarh. MCB (Team Newsbuddy): In the academic session, Kendriya Vidyalaya SECL Jhagrakhand secured first place in Raipur division in the mock parliament competition at the regional level. After this, the team represented Raipur division in the zonal level competition held at Kendriya Vidyalaya Gomti Nagar, Lucknow. Eight best performing students namely Nadia Sheikh, Akshay Verma, Shivam Jaiswal, Priyanshi Choubey, Fiza Ansari, Iram Mansuri, Prateek Jha and Aastha Agarwal along with the Principal of the school B.S. Shrivastava, Incharge Teacher Ashok Kumar Kushwaha and Support Teacher Mala Singh were invited to Parliament House, New Delhi to receive the award.

On this occasion, all the participants were taken on a tour of the new and old Parliament House building, where they were given information about the proceedings and history of Parliament. The students took a detailed tour of the Lok Sabha House, Rajya Sabha House and Parliament Museum. After this, food was arranged for everyone in the cafeteria of the Parliament Library Building.

In the second session of the day, in the presence of all the dignitaries inside the Balayogi Auditorium, all the participants, the Principal and both the teachers were awarded with mementoes and certificates by the hands of Kiren Rijiju, Minister, Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs and Ministry of Minority Affairs and a shield was presented to the school. Minister Kiren Rijiju, while addressing everyone, made them aware of the Parliament and the political functioning of the country and called upon the students to be aware of political matters.

This award will inspire the students for their future and encourage them to take more interest in the parliamentary process.
