Operation Cyber ​​Shield: Raids at 40 places, 62 cyber fraudsters arrested

Raipur (Team Newsbuddy): Raipur Police and cyber teams have arrested 62 people by conducting raids in 3 states including Chhattisgarh in the last two days. These include cyber fraudsters as well as those who gave their accounts to the fraudsters in exchange for commission. Out of the three states, raids have been conducted in Raipur, Bilaspur, Rajnandgaon and Mahasamund in Chhattisgarh. The accused have been brought to the court after being put on a bus.

These accused have committed cyber fraud of more than Rs 84 crore from people. Not only this, more than 14 hundred FIRs have been registered against them across the country. Among them, three are also of Nigerian origin. The accounts of all the accused have been put on hold, in which Rs 2 crore of fraud is still lying.

More than 1100 mule bank accounts were investigated in the cyber crime portal. In the investigation process, the victims were identified and information about the incident was collected from them. On the basis of cyber crime portal reports, transactions in bank accounts, more than one person’s bank accounts and other technical evidence, people who used cyber crimes like opening bank accounts and digital arrest of accounts, share trading fake apps, investing in crypto currency, Google review task, Telegram task, bank KYC update and Google search were identified.

62 accused arrested:
More than 20 separate teams of more than 100 police officers/personnel of Range Cyber ​​Police Station, Anti Crime and Cyber ​​Unit and various police stations of Raipur were formed and the accused were traced and arrested. Apart from this, a total of 62 accused including agents were arrested when the mule bank account was found to be in someone else’s name and when the accused were connected to it through interrogation and technical evidence.
