Bail granted to 43 people arrested in Balodabazar violence case

Bilaspur (Team Newsbuddy). The High Court has granted bail to 43 people arrested in the violence and arson case at the Collectorate premises located at Balodabazar district headquarters. It is believed that with this, the way has now been cleared for the bail of Bhilai MLA Devendra Yadav.

It is noteworthy that on June 10, 2024, there was a lot of violence, arson and vandalism in the Collectorate premises. The police have arrested a total of 187 people in connection with this violence. But due to the delay in the trial, the High Court has granted bail to 43 of these people.

The arson and violence in Balodabazar shook the entire state. This is the first such incident in the entire country in which the Collector and SP offices were burnt down by the miscreants. In the violence, the miscreants had damaged government and private property worth Rs 12.5 crore. Following the dispute that arose after the Amar Gufa incident in Mahkoni village of Girodpuri Dham, the angry mob had vandalized and set fire to Balodabazar city and the district joint office on June 10. The main office of the district administration – the SP and the Collector’s office – was also set on fire by the miscreants. More than 200 vehicles, including two fire engines, were set on fire in this arson. More than 25 police personnel were injured. The loss of property in this incident has been estimated to be Rs 12.53 crore.
