Woman journalist beaten during event coverage

Bengaluru. An ANI journalist who had come to Bengaluru to cover an election program beat up a PTI journalist badly. It is alleged that during this time he also abused this female journalist. Press Trust of India (PTI) has released the video of this entire incident. In the video posted on the x handle, a man is seen slapping the female journalist. PTI wrote in the tweet, “Shameful behavior of ANI reporter. Who beat up and abused a young PTI female reporter at a press event in Bengaluru today. Does ANI consider such behavior of its employees right? PTI management and their colleagues are angry. We strongly condemn this unprovoked violence. PTI will go to any extent to protect its employees. Our female reporter is in shock. We are registering an FIR in this matter. Also, a complaint will be lodged with the National Women’s Commission.” In this tweet, PTI has also tagged the editor of news agency ANI, Smita Prakash. However, PTI did not reveal the name of this ANI journalist. At the same time, ANI has reacted to this matter and said that their reporter has also been injured in this incident. ANI says that their reporter told that first the female journalist of PTI attacked him. Also, he will also file a complaint with the police in this matter. Naveen Kapoor associated with ANI wrote in a post on his X handle that he has full faith in the judicial process and till the investigation of the case is completed, he has suspended the journalist. Kapoor also shared a picture of the scratches on the face of the ANI reporter.
