Indore: In a surprising turn of events, Congress candidate Akshay Kanti Bam’s decision to join the BJP just two weeks before the crucial voting in Indore-Malwa has sent shockwaves not only through the political circles but also among keen observers of the political landscape. Journalists and analysts are scrambling to unravel the motivations behind Bam’s last-minute switch, and a startling revelation from his past has come to light – a 17-Year-old attempt to murder case.

Bam, who was initially charged under several sections, including 323, 506, 147, 148, and 149, is now facing additional charges of attempt to murder. The recent inclusion of this charge, just 8 to 10 days ago, adds another layer of complexity to the situation. What’s intriguing is that Bam and his father have been summoned to appear in court on May 10, 2024, in connection with the case.

The incident dates back to 2017 when Bam, along with his father and others, allegedly attempted to murder Yunus Patel over a land dispute. It is reported that Bam had intended to purchase land from Patel for ₹50 lakh, and despite sealing the deal and completing the necessary paperwork, Patel reneged on the agreement. This led to a confrontation on October 4, 2007, where Bam and his associates allegedly fired shots, narrowly missing Patel’s ear.

Furthermore, the accused reportedly transferred ownership of the land without Patel’s consent. The court’s summons to Bam and his father for further proceedings on May 10 underscores the gravity of the situation and the need for accountability.
