Fake encounter: Jan Sangharsh Morcha stages protest

Bhilai (Team Newsbuddy): On the call of Jan Sangharsh Morcha Chhattisgarh, a demonstration was held on May 15 at the Parivar Chowk of Bhilai Sector 6 against the killing of innocent villagers in a fake encounter by armed forces in Bijapur of Bastar. It is being claimed that armed forces have killed 10 Maoists in Village Pidia under Bijapur district of Bastar, whereas according to the villagers, the 10 killed were tribal villagers who had gone to pluck tendu leaves. They ran away in fear on seeing hundreds of forces present there, then the force opened fire in which 10 tribals were killed. During the demonstration in Bhilai, all the people’s organizations strongly opposed the killing of tribals in fake encounters. Along with this, the pro-corporate policies of the fascist BJP government of handing over the natural resources of the entire Chhattisgarh including Bastar to highly corrupt corporate houses like Adani, Ambani, Jindal were also opposed. An appeal was made to all the progressive organizations of the state for unity to fight against the policies of the Manuvadi/Brahminist government singing the tune of Hindutva and registering false cases against the tribals who are struggling to protect water, forest and land and oppressing them. There was a demand for immediate ban on the incidents of sexual atrocities on tribal women by the armed forces. The state government was demanded to face left wing extremism not through militarization but through political dialogue/dialogue. There was also a demand to release innocent tribals from jail.
