On Wednesday, BJP councilors opened a front against Mayor Ejaz Dhebar and demonstrated fiercely at the corporation headquarters, while on Thursday Mayor Dhebar and his MIC members sat on a protest against the BJP government in protest against the commercialization of the garden land. According to the information, Telibandha Garden built in the name of national poet Dr. Maithilisharan Gupta is being uprooted and preparations are being made to use it for commercialization. People of Shrigahoi Vaishya community are protesting against this. Local people also joined the protest with them. On getting information about this, Mayor Ejaz Dhebar and his MIC members also reached the spot.
The mayor said that I have no information in this regard. How is the corporation commercializing this garden. I will not let it be developed for commercial use. Citizens have also given their reaction regarding this. People say that when the mayor himself is not aware of the matter, then how did the corporation give permission for the work. The bigger thing was that the mayor himself sat on a dharna. After this, the question arose that the garden was handed over to private hands during the tenure of the mayor. Regarding this, the MIC members said that we did not give permission, it was the government’s proposal, although it was for some places. According to the information, this garden is the property of RDA.
