The government had not yet confirmed the death toll in the landslide on the hill in Papua New Guinea on Saturday, but on Monday it clarified that more than 2,000 people were buried alive in this accident. The government said that it has formally sought international help for relief operations. The landslide took place in Enga province, 600 km northwest of the capital Port Moresby.
