Women Composers Lead Global Collaboration for World Music Day

By Raviraj Paranami

Mumbai: World Music Day is celebrated annually on June 21. Music has the extraordinary power to transcend boundaries of nationality, color, class, and religion, transporting us to a state of supreme bliss. This is especially important in today’s world, where strife is prevalent, and we believe that music has the potential to heal and bring peace and harmony.

To mark this World Music Day, what better way than to release a song celebrating the unifying power of music? Two talented women composers, Sangeeta Pant and Rajalakshmee Sanjay, from the Women’s Wing of the Music Composers’ Association of India (MCAI), have crafted a special song for this occasion. Collaborating with artists from across the globe, they have created a song that underscores how music binds us all, regardless of our differences.

The song, written by Sangeeta Pant, is a women-led project featuring women artists from eight countries, coming together in this remarkable endeavor. Their collaboration not only showcases their individual talents but also highlights the importance of cultural exchange and mutual respect in the world of music.

It’s an initiative by Women’s Wing of the Music Composers’ Association of India (MCAI) and they are grateful for the support extended by Indrajit Sharma “Tubby”, Raju Singh and Raviraj Pranami, from MCAI.
