Read books to know country’s culture, heritage, and pride- MP Agrawal’s appeal to new generation

Raipur (Team Newsbuddy): The 46th capacity building program for public library personnel under the National Library Mission of the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, has started at Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University, Raipur. The formal inauguration was done by MP Shri Brijmohan Agrawal . Addressing the program, MP Agrawal appealed to the new generation to read books to know the country’s culture, heritage, and pride. Public library professionals from Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, and West Bengal participated in this capacity building program.

Recalling his old memories, MP Brijmohan Agrawal elaborated on the importance and need for books. He said that even though the parliament has become paperless, reading habits are still essential. He emphasized that printed books are proof and once published, they become a strong foundation. He added that history is being distorted, but library books have shown the mirror to such historians and India’s rich history has been preserved due to these books. The importance of books will never end, and history will be made only through written media. Therefore, make every effort to read books and increase knowledge.

In his initial speech, Project Officer of National Library Mission, Shri Dipanjan Chatterjee said that the capacity building training program is one of the components under the National Library Mission. He informed that till date, 45 nationwide training programs have been organized in different parts of the country, and more than 1900
