Ukraine sets up military office in Russia
1 min readMoscow (Team Newsbuddy: Ukraine has set up its military administrative office in the western Kursk region of Russia. Ukraine’s top commander Oleksandr Sirsky said that from this location they are continuing to attack Russia.
According to Oleksandr Sirsky, this office opened in the western Kursk region will maintain law and order and meet the immediate needs of the people.
In a video posted on social media, General Sirsky can be heard saying that this office has been set up in the area controlled by Ukraine. The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
At the same time, Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov, reacting to this move of Ukraine, said that we will take necessary steps to protect the people of the Kursk region.
Ukraine also claimed to have gained ground in Russian territory on Thursday. According to General Sirsky, Ukrainian troops have penetrated 35 km into the Kursk region. They have captured 1,150 sq km of territory, including 82 settlements.
This is Ukraine’s most dangerous attack on Russia so far. But Ukraine says that it is not interested in capturing Russian territory.
Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesman Hiorhiy Tykhiy had said on Wednesday that this intrusion is part of efforts to put pressure on Russia to restore peace.
