Urban bodies will get 900 crores for urban development , new facilities: Arun Sao

Raipur (Team Newsbuddy): Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao made important announcements for the urban development of the state and solution of citizen problems in a press conference on Wednesday. He announced the release of an amount of Rs 450 crore for urban bodies, which aims to strengthen urban infrastructure and meet the demands received in the Jan Samasya Nivaran Shivir. Apart from this, proposals worth more than Rs 450 crore for infrastructure development under the 15th Finance Commission will also be approved soon. Thus, a total amount of Rs 900 crore will be provided for urban development works and new facilities.

Jan Samasya Nivaran Pakhwada
The Deputy Chief Minister informed that Jan Samasya Nivaran Pakhwada was organized in all the urban bodies of the state from 27 July to 10 August, in which various camps were organized to solve the problems of the citizens. During the fortnight, about 1,30,000 applications were received, out of which more than 48,000 were resolved on the spot. The remaining applications are being examined.

Construction work: Construction work related to the needs of the citizens will be completed rapidly after the rains.

Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana: Out of 17,512 applications, 1,181 were resolved promptly.

Drinking water problem: Out of 5,573 applications, 1,233 were resolved.

Garbage collection and cleaning: Out of 1,796 applications, 1,127 were resolved.

Social security pension: Out of 2,263 applications, 570 were resolved promptly.

Road and drain repair: Out of 17,655 applications, 809 applications were approved and works were done.

Rs 2150 crore for urban development
The Deputy Chief Minister said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, the government has provided Rs 1250 crore to the urban bodies for development works in the first 8 months itself. Soon another amount of Rs 900 crore will be released, taking the total amount to Rs 2150 crore for urban development.

Arun Sao also assured that the government is providing adequate funds to all urban bodies as per their demands and needs without any discrimination, so that the overall development of the urban areas of the state can be ensured.
