MGM Indore receives Central India’s first endogenous blood irradiator

Indore (Team Newsbuddy): Mahatma Gandhi Medical College Indore has received an endogenous blood irradiator costing Rs 50 lakh manufactured by BARC (Bhabha Atomic Research Center). Cobalt-60 source has been used in it. This device is the first of its kind in Central India and till now this device is not available in any private hospital. Superintendent MGM Indore Dr. Ashok Yadav said that this advanced device is highly beneficial for bone marrow transplant patients. It reduces the chances of graft rejection as well as helps in preventing graft versus host reaction, which will give better results in the treatment of patients. The work of commissioning of the equipment and source installation is in progress. This device will prove to be a major milestone in the health sector of the state and will play an important role in strengthening medical facilities
