Indore. The heavy rains since Friday evening have once again exposed the smart city. The Municipal Corporation which has won the title of cleanliness seven times, now seems to be not ready to come down from the seventh sky. This is the reason that it is not able to see the arrangement of the land. It is also not able to see the chaos caused due to heavy rains. The storm water line of the city remains at the mercy of God every year. The city turns into ponds and puddles in a little rain and if there is heavy rain then the situation becomes at the mercy of God. The roads have taken the shape of ponds in the rain on Saturday. The big potholes on the roads are adding salt to the injury.
Now the situation is such that the rain has filled the roads and police stations. First the police got busy in removing the water filled in the police stations. Later, when traffic jams occurred at the intersections, the policemen started managing the traffic with full alertness even after the rain. Although the main job of the police is to prevent crime and take action against the criminals, but due to the rain, the policemen are also doing the duty of the Municipal Corporation. From the constable to the police officer, everyone is busy in the field. In the situation created after the rain, due to the indifference of the Municipal Corporation, the police are now doing this work to provide relief to the people.
Record broken in Indore ,3 inches of rain in 9 hours, heavy rain will continue till 26th
Rain broke the record in Indore as 3 inches of water has fallen within 9 hours. Whereas 2 inches of water fell in Bhopal and four gates of Kairwa Dam had to be opened due to rising water level, so one gate of Yashwant Sagar in Indore will also be opened after accessing the situation. If the weather department is to be believed, heavy rain is happening in the state due to the low pressure area formed in the Bay of Bengal and Arabian Sea . This strong system will remain till 26 August. Meanwhile,an Orange alert has been issued in 26 districts including Indore
