NIT Raipur’s staff, students participate in various events under “Swachhta Pakhwada”

Raipur ( Team Newsbuddy): National Institute of Technology, Raipur organized Swachhta Pakhwada campaign. The main objective of this campaign was to create awareness among students about cleanliness and its benefits. Under this program, along with organizing slogan and essay competition, oath was also taken for awareness towards e-waste collection box and cleanliness.
At the beginning of this Swachhta Pakhwada, first of all a pledge was taken to spread awareness about cleanliness. During this, Head, CDC Dr. Sameer Bajpai administered an oath to all the members present that we will play our full part in keeping the environment around us clean and pure. During this Dr. P Y Dhekne, Registrar, Dr. D Sanyal, Dean (Faculty Welfare), Dr. M K Prasad, Associate Dean (Student Welfare), Dr. T P Sahu, Nodal Officer, Swachhta Pakhwada and other faculty members, employees and students were present. Everyone took active participation in this program and pledged to be aware about cleanliness.
After this a slogan competition and essay competition were organized. Dr. Sadhana Agarwal, Dr. D Sanyal, Dr. M.K. Prasad, Dr. T.P. Sahu, Dr. Y. Vijay Babu, employees, PhD scholars and students were present in this program.
Firstly, Dr. Babu gave information about the competition and informed the participants that 30 minutes were allotted for essay competition and 5 minutes for slogan competition. While the topic of essay competition was India – then, now and how it should be in aspects of cleanliness, the topic of slogan competition was clean campus to study with serenity. After this, Dr. Prasad encouraged all the participants to participate in these competitions as much as possible and Dr. Sahu motivated all the participants to participate enthusiastically in the upcoming programs.
In the essay competition, in English medium, first place was secured by Mr. Vicky Prasad, PhD Scholar, HHS Department, second place by Rubina Roy, Mining Second Year, third place by Tanumala Thaurani and Abhijeet A Kumar Establishment Section. Whereas in Hindi medium, Himanshu Rajput, Mechanical Third Year got first place, Priya Kashyap, PhD Scholar, HHS Department, Birendra Kumar, IT Branch, First Year.
In the slogan competition, Dr. Sadhna Agarwal secured first place while Adarsh Kumar, Mining, Fifth Semester, and Kriti Soni, Electrical, Fifth Semester bagged second place, Himanshu Rajput, Mechanical Third Year, and Avish Kumar Srivastava got third place.
After this, taking active participation towards cleanliness, Shramdaan program was organized in which all the members cleaned the football ground of the institute.
