“SGSITS” annual sports competition ”Varchasva”2024-25 ” begins

Biomedical Engineering Department and PG Department entered quarter finals in inter branch badminton women competition
SGSITS Indore’s annual sports competition “Varchasva” 2022-23 was inaugurated in the presence of the chief guest, Director of the Institute, Prof. Sandeep Narulkar and senior member of the Sports Committee of the Institute, Prof. L.L. Jain. Chief Warden and Sports Committee member Prof. B.S. More and Badminton Sports Incharge Arun Kuliha were present as special guests. On this occasion, all the members of the Institute’s Sports Committee Prof. Girish Gaurav Soni were present. , Prof. R.S. Mandloi, , Prof. Vipin Kaushik, Prof. K.K. Dhakad, Prof. Vipin Kaushik, Prof. Rakesh Sagar were also present.
Giving information about the competition, Organizing Secretary of the competition Captain (Dr.) Manish Jaiswal said that in this annual sports competition ‘Varchasva’, badminton (men and women), football (men), table-tennis (men and women), basketball ( Men & Women), Volleyball (Men & Women), Cricket (Men & Women), Kabaddi (Men & Women), Lawn Tennis (Men & Women), Pittu (Men & Women), Throw Ball (Men & Women), Netball (Men and Women), Kho-Kho (Men and Women), Handball (Men and Women), and Chess (Men and Women) competitions are being organized. In each game of this competition, there are a total of 11 branches in the men’s category and 11 branches are participating in the women’s category.
The chief guest, the director of the institute, in his address wished all the participants good luck for their good performance in the competition and motivated them to establish their supremacy by playing with sportsman spirit. He said that sports teaches us brotherhood and discipline. Sports in the institute A cordial atmosphere can be established through this.
Prof. M.L.Jain, who is presiding over the program, threw light on the benefits of sports in life. He said that sports keep us physically and mentally healthy, therefore we must play at least one game every day.
Vishnu Jaiswal, Chairman of the Student Sports Committee, administered the oath to the players participating in the competition and the Chief Guest, Director of the Institute, Prof. S.M. Narulkar announced the commencement of the annual sports competition ‘Varchasva’ 2024-25.
Under the said annual sports competition, initially an inter-branch badminton competition was organized, the results of which are as follows –
In the men’s category, Electronics and Instrumentation Department defeated Electronics and Telecommunication Department team 2-0 and entered the quarter finals. In the first singles of this match, Prakhar of Instrumentation Department defeated Aryan Gupta of Telecommunication Department 21-10, 21- 18. In the second singles, Aditya Kumar of the Instrumentation Department defeated Abhiraj Singh of the Telecommunication Department 21-19, 21-17. In the other match, the Mechanical Department defeated the IT Department team 2-0. and entered into the quarter finals. In the first singles of this match, Pratik of Mechanical department defeated Vaidik of I.T. department 21-12, 21-16. In the second singles, Kabir of Mechanical department defeated Vaidik of I.T. department 21-12, 21-16. Defeated Akshat of the department 21-16, 21-15.
