SC ready to hear Owaisi’s petition on Places of Worship Act

New Delhi (Team Newsbuddy): The Supreme Court has agreed to hear the PIL filed by All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen President Asaduddin Owaisi to implement the ‘Places of Worship Act 1991’.

Live Law and news agency PTI confirmed this. Owaisi then shared it on social media platform X. Asaduddin Owaisi then said, “I had filed a petition in the Supreme Court for the implementation of the Places of Worship Act 1991.”

Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi said that lawyer Nizam Pasha appeared in the court on my behalf. According to the Places of Worship Act of 1991, the religious character of a place should be maintained as per 15 August 1947.

Recently, a case was filed in the court claiming that Shahi Jama Masjid is a Hindu temple, after which a legal dispute has arisen regarding this religious place. After this, a survey of the mosque was conducted. After this, the Places of Worship Act has started being discussed again
