JNU Students Union Election: Left’s dominance continues, ABVP loses all four posts including president
1 min readNew Delhi. Once again, leftist student organizations have won the student union elections of Jawaharlal University.
This time also this election was fought jointly by the leftist organizations. According to Shailendra Kumar, Chairperson of the Election Committee of JNU, Dhananjay won the post of President, Avijit Ghosh on the post of Vice President, Priyanshi Arya on the post of General Secretary and Mohammad Sajid on the post of Joint Secretary in the student union elections.
Dhananjay of All India Students Association (AISA) defeated Umesh Chandra Ajmeera of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) on the post of President.
Dhananjay got 2598 and Umesh Chandra Ajmeera got 1676 votes
On the other hand, Avijit Ghosh of Students Federation of India (SFI) has been elected on the post of Vice President. He got 2409 votes, while ABVP’s Deepika Sharma got 1482 votes.
