Raipur: There is a relief news for liquor lovers. Now those who buy liquor will not have to be disappointed if they do not get the brand of their choice. The Excise Department of the Chhattisgarh government is preparing to bring a new mobile application, through which customers will be able to easily know which brand is available in their nearest government shop.

For some time now, the liquor lovers of the state were complaining that they were not getting their favorite brand of liquor, beer or malt. But now the Excise Department is ready to solve this problem. According to sources, this app has been named ‘Manpasand’ and it is being developed by Chhattisgarh Infotech Promotion Society (CHiPS).

Concern of reduction in revenue

Sources in the Excise Department say that not getting all the brands in the shops is not only causing problems to the customers, but it is also causing a decline in the revenue of the government. The government gets thousands of crores of rupees every year in the form of excise revenue, and the target is now to almost double it. Recently, the state excise team inspected the liquor shops of Bilaspur district, which revealed that sales are declining due to the unavailability of customers’ favorite liquor brands.

Brand information will be available through app
The app to be launched soon will provide information about which brands are available in which shop. This will make it easier for customers and they will be able to buy their favorite liquor without any inconvenience. There will be transparency in sales through this app and shopkeepers will not be able to act arbitrarily with customers.

Sources also say that large quantities of liquor and beer are being ordered in the state from Delhi, Punjab, Haryana and other states in the next few days, which will improve availability.
