During the interaction, Kanchan Yadav of Bastar queried the Chief Minister about overcoming exam-related anxiety. Responding, Chief Minister Sai attributed the fear to flaws in the Macaulay education system, highlighting its tendency to induce pressure on students.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi consistently interacts with students, offering advice on staying stress-free, particularly during board exams. Through these discussions, the Prime Minister has observed that Macaulay’s education system imposes excessive examination stress on students. Recognizing the necessity for reform, the government implemented the New Education Policy. This policy provides ample opportunities for holistic student development. Prime Minister is consistently eager to engage in discussions with students. In line with this, a ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’ session is scheduled to be held on January 29”, said Shri Sai.
Known for approachibility, the Chief Minister graciously answered a series of questions from the youth. He also spoke about the government’s initiatives for education reform in the state. Highlighting the significance of incorporating indigenous values and traditions into education, the Chief Minister critiqued the continuation of Macaulay’s education system, introduced by the British colonial administration.
“Despite global advancements, this antiquated system persists. In the current digital era, the importance of professional courses has surged, prompting a crucial need to integrate yoga and physical fitness into the curriculum. In alignment with these considerations, the Prime Minister initiated the implementation of a New Education Policy”, he said.
