17 people drowned after boat capsized in Ganga: 13 rescued, 4 missing

Patna (Team Newsbuddy): A major accident has happened in Bihar. A boat suddenly capsized in the Ganga river in Patna. 17 people of the same family on the boat started drowning in the river. Immediately local swimmers and sailors started trying to save them. 13 people were somehow taken out. At the same time, the search for four members of the family is on. Here, there was a stir in the area after the incident. There was a crowd of people around. As soon as the information was received, the police reached the spot and started investigation. The police is conducting a search operation in the Ganga river with the help of the SDRF team. The search for the missing people is on.

Confirming the incident, the Barh police station in-charge said that people had come to take a bath in the Ganga on the occasion of Ganga Dussehra on Sunday at Umanath Ghat. 17 people of the family started drowning in the river due to the boat capsizing. Out of these, 13 people have been taken out. They are fine at the moment. Meanwhile, the SDRF team is conducting a rescue operation in search of six people. Out of these, two people have been rescued while the search for four people is still on. A retired NHAI officer Awadhesh Prasad is also missing. Awadhesh Prasad retired just a month ago. While his wife has been rescued.
